About

Street posts are usually just part of the urban backdrop—functional but unremarkable. But when you see a whole assortment of them in one place, their variety becomes surprisingly charming.

Tucked away in Rotterdam, the so-called Street Posts Museum is a curious outdoor collection of street posts from across the Netherlands. No one knows exactly who put it together, though it seems to have been installed with the municipality’s cooperation. The only official clue is a sign reading landelijke tentoonstelling voor paal—which translates to “the national exhibition for poles,” but also serves as a cheeky play on words, hinting at the Dutch phrase for looking foolish.

Recently, the spot went viral online, earning a "museum" label on Google Maps and a flurry of half-serious reviews from amused visitors. While it may not be a life-changing attraction, for those who appreciate life’s small, unexpected oddities, it’s worth a look.
